Brieuc Van Damme | The Contemporary American Economy

Brieuc Van Damme is an economist (KULeuven, College of Europe, George Mason University) and lives in Molenbeek, Brussels. He is the healthcare and social affairs advisor of deputy prime minister Alexander De Croo and has taught a class on the American economy at the University of Antwerp. Brieuc is a fellow of the Brussels based think-tank The Friday Group, a member of the General Council of the National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance, the management committee of the Social Security and  the author of several published policy papers, as well as the book The Grey Gold (Roularta, 2010). He regularly intervenes on symposia and in the media on topics such as the American economy, sustainable economic development, the (budgetary) future of healthcare, health economics and policy, ageing, elder care, and the welfare state.
