David Woolner

​David B. Woolner is Senior Fellow and Hyde Park Resident Historian of the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute, Senior Fellow of the Center for Civic Engagement at Bard College, and Associate Professor of History at Marist College. He is co-editor of four books, including Progressivism in America: Past, Present and Future (Oxford University Press 2015); FDR’s World: War, Peace and Legacies (Palgrave, 2008); FDR and the Environment (Palgrave, 2005); and FDR, the Vatican and the Roman Catholic Church in America, 1933-1945 (Palgrave, 2003); and is the editor of The Second Quebec Conference Revisited: Waging War, Formulating Peace; Canada, Great Britain and the United States in 1944-1945 (Palgrave/St. Martin’s Press, 1998). He has been Visiting Associate Professor of History at Bard College and remains a member of the faculty of the Bard Prison Initiative. He serves on the Editorial Board of the International History Review, and has held the Archives Bi-Fellowship at Churchill College, Cambridge (2007), the Fulbright Distinguished Research Chair at the Roosevelt Study Center in Middelburg, the Netherlands (2010) and was recently awarded the first Roosevelt Fellowship in Middelburg’s University College Roosevelt.  He holds a Ph.D and M.A. from McGill University and a B.A. summa cum laude from the University of Minnesota.
