Course catalog 2015-2016

The program curriculum is made up of a classroom component and a research component. The classroom component consists of five obligatory core courses (25 ECTS) and three specialization courses chosen by the student (15 ECTS). The list of electives below gives just an indicative sample of specialization courses (several of which are taught exclusively for the MAAS program) that might be of interest to our students. But electives can be chosen from the wide range of MA courses offered by any of the four organizing universities. The research component (20 ECTS) is conducted independently, with the guidance of a member of the professorial staff, and culminates in a thesis of 15,000 - 20,000 words (excl. bibliography), followed by a viva (thesis defense).
